Centenary Past Captains

On Friday 10th June, in blustery conditions, Past Captains from Barrow, Furness, Ulverston and Dunnerholme got together to play in Barrow Golf Clubs Centenary Past Captains Competition.

The competition was played in a Texas Scramble format, with all players starting simultaneously at the sound of the horn marking the Shotgun Start

Out of the group of 80 players there were winners from the Gents and the Ladies.

Gents winners were: Chris McKellor, Mark Hendley, Mark Robinson and Ken Newsome.

Ladies winners were: B Foster, A Park, F Holloway and L Benson.

Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all for taking part and being involved in our Centenary celebrations.

Barrow Golf Club is a jewel set amidst the splendour of the Lake District and the beauty of the Furness Peninsula.

Formed in 1921, its elevated position, overlooking the Duddon estuary and with glorious views of the Lakeland mountains, provides a fitting backdrop to this 18 hole, 6200 yard, Par 71, championship golf course.
