Ladies Charity Open

Ladies Charity Open was hosted by Lady Captain Sue Kirkby on Friday 22nd July. Her chosen charity was Derian House Childrens Hospice a great cause, close to her heart.
After a day of hard work by Sue and her team of fundraising volunteers, we managed to raise £1959 for Derian House, a truly fantastic achievement.
The Golf on show was equally successful with some stellar performances from the 4 player Ladies teams.
1st place was claimed by the 4 ball of Janette Dutton, Sheehan McKeever, Carol Kermode and Amanda Savage with 92 points.
Followed closely behind were 2nd place June Bagnall, Dot Williams, Helen Holmes and Isabel Wilson with 88 points.
3rd place was Pauline Murray, Joan Myers, Marian McBride and Val Makinson with 79 points and finally Pat Duxbury, Sue Kirkby, Jackie Finch and Pauline McCartan also with 79 points.

Barrow Golf Club is a jewel set amidst the splendour of the Lake District and the beauty of the Furness Peninsula.

Formed in 1921, its elevated position, overlooking the Duddon estuary and with glorious views of the Lakeland mountains, provides a fitting backdrop to this 18 hole, 6200 yard, Par 71, championship golf course.
