Juniors Sixes and Golf Tour

Our juniors had a busy Sunday.

We had a squad of players in the Northern junior golf tour at Chester. Although there was a little drizzle it didn’t sway the team from playing some excellent golf.
In the18-hole Joseph Pennington tied for first place with a 62 but lost on countback. Oscar Rawlinson scored 65.

Niamh Carruthers came 2nd in the 9-hole with 51, with Florence Martindale sharing 2nd place with 60. Toby Prentice finished 11th with a score of 70.
12 players from Barrow played in the Golf Sixes Tournament at Ulverston with many of them playing for the team for the first time.

The navy players secured 2nd place with a score of 107 points. Excellent putting by our blue team with some of our younger players secured 5th place with a score of 87.

Barrow Golf Club is a jewel set amidst the splendour of the Lake District and the beauty of the Furness Peninsula.

Formed in 1921, its elevated position, overlooking the Duddon estuary and with glorious views of the Lakeland mountains, provides a fitting backdrop to this 18 hole, 6200 yard, Par 71, championship golf course.

The course is designed to provide exciting and challenging golf to test players of all standards. Whether you are a seasoned all year golfer or a casual green fee player, Barrow Golf Club offers friendly and relaxed hospitality to all.
