County Matchplay Championship

On Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th August Barrow Golf Club hosted the County Matchplay Championship.
Players and County officials were extremely impressed with the presentation and condition of the Course, with lots of positive feedback received!
The Individual final was played on Sunday afternoon. A massive congratulations goes to the winner Will Coxon!
The Golf on display was an absolute pleasure to watch with Will Coxon playing amazingly good Golf against Rob Spence who fought tenaciously to try to hold both Strokeplay and Matchplay titles this year.
Will Coxon with his outstanding driving ability made it extremely difficult for Rob even though the match swung in the balance, it was a mistake on 15 from Rob which gave Will the chance he’d been waiting for to go to win the match 2&1.
A huge thanks to the Hospitality, Greens Staff, Volunteers, Referees and especially the players who made it a great competition and contributed to a really successful weekend hosting the County Matchplay Championship.
