Golf Sixes League 5th June 2023

Barrow Juniors competed in the Golf sixes league on Monday. 36 boys and girls played with teams from Barrow, Ulverston, and Dunnerholme.  The format is Texas Scramble over 6 holes.  Dunnerholme scored 119 points, Barrow Navy team 118 points.  The golf sixes league is for children starting their journey into competitive golf.  6 players in each team in a league of 3 clubs. Each club provides 2 teams.

The league has its own set of golf rules.  One of the more interesting is they are allowed to ground a club in a bunker. They have two shots each. If the ball is still in the bunker they may throw the ball forward for 1 penalty.

All players enjoyed their visit to Barrow Golf Club.

Barrow Golf Club is a jewel set amidst the splendour of the Lake District and the beauty of the Furness Peninsula.

Formed in 1921, its elevated position, overlooking the Duddon estuary and with glorious views of the Lakeland mountains, provides a fitting backdrop to this 18 hole, 6200 yard, Par 71, championship golf course.

The course is designed to provide exciting and challenging golf to test players of all standards. Whether you are a seasoned all year golfer or a casual green fee player, Barrow Golf Club offers friendly and relaxed hospitality to all.
