Our clubhouse is a friendly place for eating, drinking and socialising with your friends or family. Barrow GC is a friendly club where new members and guest are always made to feel welcome. The golf club is a great way to network with other people from the area and make life-long friendships with other members. Children are made welcome.

Access to a Quality Course - being a member of Barrow Golf Club gives you the opportunity to play when you like, as often as you like and how you like, whether you enjoy the challenge of weekly competition or a relaxing social game. The golf course is great fun to play for golfers whatever their ability. Enjoy playing on one of the most beautiful Golf Courses in Cumbria with picturesque views of the mountains of the Lake District including Black Combe, Scafell Pike and Coniston Old Man.

There are interesting holes, picturesque holes and challenging holes.

Competitive Golf

Being a member of Barrow GC allows you to play regular ladies and men's club Competitions throughout the summer season including medal, stableford, bogey, knockout and Texas scramble. Competitive Golf will allow you to get a handicap an official CONGU handicap which reflects you’re playing standard allowing you to play in Matches in your other areas.

We have a fantastic Ladies Section which hold organised competitions on Wednesdays and Fridays and participate in regular competitive team matches against other clubs in the area. Ladies play informal game every Monday. Our ladies section always welcome new members from those just starting golf to those who are looking for competitive golf.

The Ladies Section play a range of Competitions including County Matches, Club Competitions, and Opens.

Barrow Golf Club has a thriving men’s Seniors Section which welcomes new members and hold organised Competitions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The Seniors Section also participate in regular Opens, competitive team matches against other clubs in the area which provides the opportunity to play different courses and socialise with golfers from other clubs.

Excellent Practice Facilities

We think most golfers want to practice at least some part of their game from time to time, some more than others! We therefore have an extensive range of practice facilities including a short game area (with practice bunkers) and also large putting green which closely mirror our course greens.
